Aldi shoppers have been told about the retailer's burgers that taste exactly like one from a fast food giant.
If you don't want to spend too much cash on delivery or visit your nearest drive thru, one man claims you can get the perfect alternative for a McDonald's chicken burger from the budget supermarket.
TikTok user known as Right Guys Review has shared a fakeaway version of McDonald's McSpicy burger that can be made easily with the help of an air fryer. The foodie regularly shares his supermarket finds and food reviews on the profile @rightguysreview.
He recently told his 1.4 million followers that the Aldi's Roosters Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Thigh Burgers are a dead ringer for the Maccie's menu item and cost £2.45 a box of two fillets, Manchester Evening Live reports.
In the clip which has over 1.7million views, he picks up a box of the fillets in Aldi and says: “"Right guys, don't walk to Aldi, run to Aldi. If you like the new McSpicy from McDonald's, there is the McSpicy.”
According to the McDonald's website, the McSpicy consists of "hot and spicy 100% chicken breast in a crispy coating, served with crunchy lettuce and a classic sandwich sauce served in a sesame seed bun." After being discontinued, it returned to UK menus on February 15 due to high customer demand.
After throwing one of the fillets into the air fryer back home for 20 minutes at 180C, he added that all you need then is lettuce, mayo and buns.
A McSpicy on its own would cost you £4.79, so you would be saving money as one of the Aldi burgers would cost you roughly £1.22 per burger, a sesame brioche bun costs just over 25p a bun, and only a couple p more for a dollop of mayo and a shred of lettuce.
One TikTok user said: “Looks fab. But should of toasted the bun!” Lee said: “A generational chef this guy” and David added “Thanks for tip absolutely amazing.”
Another TikTok account said: “Just tried this.. was identical thanks for the tip!!” Cheryl said: “Me and my fella have these. They are lush.”
Coco said: “getting this tomorrow,” while Miss Dawn added: “I love them they are great in the air fryer.”
Jodi, a regular Aldi burger buyer said, “Been buying these for a year. You should toast the bun and add onion and garlic dip, burger cheese, shredded lettuce, gherkins and buffalo sauce.”
