McDonald's employee rages at customers who order their dogs Big Macs

When you're in a rush or want to treat yourself, there's nothing better than swinging into the McDonald's drive-thru for a quick and easy lunch. While you shouldn't eat fast food every day, there is no harm in a cheeky Big Mac meal every now and again.

However, a McDonald's employee has revealed that it's not only humans who are eating their food, as some family pets have been seen munching their way through Happy Meals too. A crew member has shamed pet owners who regularly order fast food for their dogs, claiming they are sending them to an early grave.

Venting to Reddit, the part-time employee said: "I work in a McDonald's drive thru and nothing peeves me more than this...

"There's a select handful of people that come through every single day and buy their dogs cheeseburgers, nuggets, ice cream, and the occasional Quarter Pounder or Big Mac.

"I have a specific regular who bought his dog two hamburgers every day. His dog wasn't even old - it was a young rescue dog that kept getting progressively bigger."

After serving the customer for a few months, the employee noticed a change in the dog and questioned the owner about it.

The employee added: "I asked what happened to him. He said 'this is my new dog. My other one had a heart attack, unfortunately. He was three going on four'."

"This guy went out and bought a dog that looked exactly like the one he killed, he even gave it the same name.

"He still buys hamburgers for that dog every day and that one is starting to put on weight too.

"I'm personally not very fond of dogs, but they're living beings. If you want to be unhealthy and eat McDonald's every day, that's you. Don't push it on your pets."

While sharing the worst menu items owners could feed their dogs, the vet explained how regularly treating dogs to fast food is a "recipe for canine obesity and poor health".

A statement on Can I Give My Dog, reads: "Hamburgers at McDonald’s have more unhealthy ingredients than people realise.

"Avoid giving your dog a combination of pickles, raw onions, ketchup, mustard, not to mention the seeded bun."

"At the very least, it’s a bad habit. All fast food items are inappropriate for dogs. And that includes your McNuggets.

"One of the most popular is McDonald’s delicious French fries which may be one of the worst."
