McDonald's Easter 2023 opening times: Latest hours for Good Friday and Easter Monday

McDonald’s fans might be wondering if they’ll still be able to tuck into a tasty Big Mac over the Easter weekend.

Easter Sunday falls on April 9 this year and there are the usual bank holiday dates either side of this.

Good Friday will be on April 7 with Easter Monday falling on April 10.

For some workers, Easter means a four-day long weekend - with most supermarkets closed on Easter Sunday so staff can enjoy more time with their families.

But what does the Easter weekend mean for McDonald’s restaurants? Will they remain open? Here is everything you need to know

McDonald’s Easter 2023 opening hours

McDonald’s has more than 1,270 restaurants in the UK.

To be absolutely sure of the opening times of your local store, you should use the McDonald's restaurant locator online tool.

Just pop in your postcode and it will bring up your closest branch.

Approximately 1,100 of McDonald's restaurants in the UK are franchised, which means they are able to choose their own hours.

This also means opening times vary across the country - including over Easter - and there are no standard opening hours.

But to give you a rough idea of opening times, The Mirror has checked several locations across the UK.

Many locations will be open over Easter - however, you may find a handful will stay shut on Easter Sunday, with shorter times on the bank holidays.

For example, the McDonald's in the Eureka Park in Ashford, Kent, shows that it will remain open 24 hours over the long Easter weekend.

Its restaurant in Highbury Corner, Islington in London, will be open from 5am until 2am over Easter.

The McDonald's in the Arndale Centre in Manchester is showing shorter opening hours of 8am until 7pm - it normally closes at 9pm - on Good Friday.

Its Saturday hours go back to normal, opening 8am until 9pm, but then it appears the restaurant will be shut on Easter Sunday.

McDonald's latest menu change

McDonald's has just shaken up its menu with new additions - and a fan favourite has returned for a limited time.

The Chicken Big Mac is once again available to order following huge demand last year, when it sold out in under ten days.

If you didn't get to try it last time, the Chicken Big Mac is a triple-layered bun with the two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, and Big Mac sauce.

A single burger costs £4.49 for a single burger, or £6.09 for a medium meal, although prices do vary.

Joining the Chicken Big Mac is the new Steakhouse Stack, made up of two beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce.

This is priced at £5.39 for a single burger, or £6.99 for a medium meal.

Other new menu additions include the return of the Creme Egg McFlurry (£1.99 for a standard size, or £1.49 for a mini) and mozzarella dippers (£2.19 for a regular box, or £6.19 for a sharebox).
