A popular McDonald's discount has 'no end date', despite concern that it was finishing. The restaurant chain has confirmed that the deal will continue.
It had been thought that the 20% discount for a variety of workers was being scrapped. The deal began in 2021 as a thank you to those who work in the health service, emergency services, care sector and armed forces.
People who work in the NHS, police, fire service, care sector or are in the military can benefit when ordering through the McDonald's app, reports Bristol Live.
Steve Bater, spokesman at NHS Money Saving blog NHS Discount Offers, had announced the deal was ending. He said: "We've had a good run with this deal, but it's a real shame that the McDonald's discount is set to end on March 31, so time is really ticking for NHS staff to get their 20% off their favourite meals."
He added: "The McDonald's 20% discount has been one of the most popular food discounts for NHS staff to take advantage of in the last year or so and it's been a great way for NHS staff to save on their McDonald's takeaways. The cost of living crisis continues and every little helps as we look to save money wherever we can.
"It's really appreciated that McDonald's have been helping NHS staff save. It's been a really kind gesture from the fast food giant and we appreciate them continuing to run the discount for staff until the end of this month."
However, bosses have now confirmed the discount will remain. A McDonald's spokesperson said: "There’s no end date."
Customers can also benefit from double points on all McDelivery orders via the McDonald’s app for certain dates this month.
