McDonald's has confirmed to disappointed fans that the roll-out of adult Happy Meals in the US will not be coming across the pond. The fast food giant set social media alight after the menu change was announced in America.
But the Manchester Evening News contacted the restaurant chain to ask whether adult happy meals would be coming to the UK, and the company confirmed that they would not. A McDonald's spokesperson confirmed: "We have no plans to roll this out in the UK."
In America, customers will be order Big Mac or McNugget meals with limited edition artworks based on the McDonald's characters
Manchester Evening News shared the news on Facebook, and it's safe to say that people are anything but happy about the news. Joannah Barnard slammed: "No happiness for the UK!" Justin Humphreys wrote: "I imagine there must be a distinct lack of happy adults in the UK."

Angie Norwood-Pearson said: "Absolutely devastating. [...] I won’t sleep at night knowing I won't get an adult happy meal." Damo Pritt said: "That doesn't make me HAPPY at all."
Danny Robinson said: "We're getting the miserable Karen meal." Ian Duerdin laughed: "Don't tell Jamie Oliver."
Francesca Marston suggested: "They should offer a smaller meal option for adults like a happy meal size though, not everybody can eat a full meal - elderly people or ones without a big appetite probably feel full up on a happy meal."
Diane Bracegirdle said: "I'd still buy the kids one for myself I've been having them for donkeys years." Cathie Leather commented "Happy meals aren't just for kids, it says "happy meal."
