McDonald’s most iconic menu item is getting an upgrade - and it launches on the menu next week.
The fast food chain’s much loved Big Mac is going to be joined by a Chicken Big Mac, which is sure to be a hit with foodie fans.
Arriving in the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, February 2, the new Chicken Big Mac will see McDonald’s two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating sandwiched between their recognisable triple layered bun.
The burger, much like a regular Big Mac, will also be made with a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles and the world-famous inimitable Big Mac sauce - and has already proved popular down under in Australia.

The chicken Big Mac will be 50p more expensive than the original Big Mac at £4.09, up from £3.59 - but prices may vary.
However, customers will only have a few weeks to get their hands on the highly requested Chicken Big Mac, as the pilot project will see the meal vanish from menus on March 15.
In the meantime, though, the double Big Mac, Mozzarella Dippers, Galaxy® chocolate McFlurry, Galaxy® salted caramel McFlurry and the Chicken Legend will also be returning.
McDonald’s fans will also be pleased to know that the much-loved McPlant is staying on as a permanent fixture in all restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
It comes after the news that customers were left feeling disappointed yesterday when McDonald’s revealed they would be axing the breakfast bagel and wrap.
But perhaps they’ll find a new menu favourite in the Chicken Big Mac on February 2.
