Elderly care home residents are watching the World Cup in style and items were bought for vulnerable members of the community thanks to the kind-hearted team at Coatbridge McDonald's.
The on-a-roll staff members have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to help support locals in the lead up to Christmas.
The team’s continuous efforts to "give back and be a good neighbour" have spanned throughout the year and is an important aspect of their role at McDonald’s.
Led by franchisee Alan Halliday, the restaurant's most recent fundraising activities include support for Coatbridge foodbank and Blair House Care Home.
As a key part of the its community mission, the team organised restaurant fundraising events and, via generous customer and staff donations, collected enough cash to buy a brand new 65-inch UHD Samsung TV for the care home residents.
Blair House Care Home staff and residents were "delighted" to receive the gift, which replaces a smaller unit in their lounge area, making it easier for them to enjoy watching TV together.
The McDonald's staff have donated to Coatbridge foodbank for many years and this month £500 worth of much needed supplies were delivered by franchisee Alan and his team.
This included food and toiletries to help the most vulnerable in the community when they really need it.
Franchisee Alan Halliday, who owns and operates the Coatbridge restaurant, told Lanarkshire Live : “We take great pride in continuing to support and build relationships within our local community.
"I’m so proud of the work we do and I’m especially thankful for the crew and customers for their efforts, not just this month but throughout the whole year.
"We’re committed to continuing being a good neighbour and making a positive impact on the lives of the people in our community who need it the most.”
