McDonald's changes, deals and opening hours over Platinum Jubilee weekend

McDonald's will be joining the nation when it celebrates the Platinum Jubilee over the four-day bank holiday weekend. The momentous occasion, which marks 70 years since the Queen's accession, kicks off on Thursday, June 2.

The unprecedented anniversary has seen a big reshuffle in the 2022 calendar, with the spring bank holiday, which usually lands on the last Monday in May, moved to June 2, while an extra one has been added on Friday, June 3 for the Queen's Jubilee..

If you're planning to head to fast-food chain McDonald's over the long weekend, you might notice some changes. The fast-food chain has temporarily changed its iconic slogan and is also launching a limited-edition china packaging.

For the bank holiday weekend only, the famous McDonald's tagline has been changed from "I'm lovin' it" to "one's lovin' it", while the iconic jingle has been modified for the first time ever, thanks to a collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The restaurant is also altering its packaging, McDonald's has reimagined the Big Mac, Fries and Milkshake packaging that customers know and love as an elegant china set, adding Platinum Jubilee Pageant detailing.

There are 70 of the limited-edition sets up for grabs. All McDonald’s fans have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to enter the competition via the McDonald’s App between May 31 – June 6, with the lucky winners being crowned on June 8.

McDonald's is also giving its Quarter Pounder with Cheese a royal makeover for the bank holiday weekend. On Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3 the iconic burger will be known as the Royale with Cheese for customers ordering it.

It will also cost just 99p as it kick starts four days of deals over the Jubilee weekend on the McDonald's App. While fast-food fans can save £2.60 on the Royal with Cheese over the bank holidays, Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 will offer another saving.

McDonald's has announced a Spend £15, Save £5 deal on all orders via the McDonald's App, allowing customers to save on street party food.
