McDonald's has announced that the McSpicy chicken burger is returning to its menu permanently this month "by popular demand".
The spicy alternative to McDonald's usual offerings was first launched in July 2021 as a summer option, and has returned since but only in limited runs.
Now, the McSpicy will be a permanent addition to their UK and Ireland menus. This follows on from the success of the McCrispy chicken burger launched last year, with an ad campaign fronted by Maya Jama.

McDonald's describe the burger as a "spicy chicken breast fillet topped with crunchy cool lettuce and mayo between toasted sesame seed buns". It claims it will be "a sure-fire hit for fans nationwide who have flooded McDonald’s social channels demanding the return of this much-loved menu item."
Gráinne Allen, director of Food and Innovation, McDonald’s UK and Ireland, said: “We’re so pleased to be welcoming the McSpicy to our permanent menu across the UK and Ireland. The McSpicy brings the heat to our menu, and we hope chicken lovers across the nation are as excited about its permanence as we are.”
The McSpicy will return to McDonalds across the UK and Ireland from February 15. A McSpicy on its own will cost £4.79, with a meal priced at £6.29.
