McDonald's breakfast wrap's disappearing act is over: menu item back after surprise recall

The much-loved McDonald’s breakfast wrap has returned to the fast-food chain.

Days after the much-anticipated breakfast wrap's reappearance, McDonald's fans were saddened to see it removed from the menu.

When the fast-food chain announced its new menu, which launched in restaurants on February 7, there were many reasons to be excited because it meant the breakfast wrap was making a comeback.

The improved breakfast wrap, which McDonald's promised would be a "experience like never before" and included a tasty pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, crispy potato rosti and cheese served in a tortilla wrap with brown sauce or tomato tomato ketchup.

So when the wrap was taken off the menu on February 9, after just three days, it was a terrible blow.

A spokeswoman at the time stated: "Due to an unprecedented demand, McDonald's has had to temporarily remove the breakfast wrap from the menu, to avoid running out of all wider breakfast items."

However, the breakfast wrap wasn’t gone for too long.

McDonald's announced that they had received more than 5,000 direct messages to their social media accounts and 22 petitions from fans pleading with them to reinstate the wrap.

Today, February 13, marks the official return of the McDonald's breakfast wrap, which is priced at £4.39, or £5.89 for a meal.

However, keep in mind that costs do differ from restaurant to restaurant, so it’s best to confirm the pricing before paying.

The breakfast wrap is served at McDonald’s chains from 5am until 11am.

However, this wasn’t the only thing missing from menus across the country. The Big Tasty, the Big Tasty with Bacon, Mozzarella Dippers with Salsa Dip, the McSpicy x Frank's Red Hot, the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry, the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry, and the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie are among the other items that were added back to the menu on February 7.
