High street fast food chain McDonald's has announced a major menu shake up which is seeing a number of seasonal products axed from the order list - but it’s not all bad news. In fact, the chain will be launching a new cheesy sharebox sure to send shoppers wild.
Since June, McDonald’s summer specials have included flavours of the Mediterranean inspired by Italy, including the Italian Stack and Tiramisu McFlurry. But today is the last day to get your hands on them as the Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu drops tomorrow.
The new menu launches on July 27, and will include two limited edition burgers, a summer drink and brand new halloumi fries - and foodies can’t contain their excitement on social media.

One wrote: “Can mcdonald’s hurry up and release the halloumi fries please”, while another added: “MCDONALDS STARTING HALLOUMI FRIES....i just can't”
The burgers coming to the menu include the Spicy Spanish Stack, which will cost £5.39, and the Chicken Fiesta, coming in at the same price. There’s a new summer punch drink costing £2.29 for a medium or £2.61 for large, while halloumi fries will come in at £2.49 for a single portion, or £6.49 for a share box.
The exciting new launch does mean McDonald’s fans will have to wave goodbye to the Italian Stack - which tastes like lasagne - Crispy Chicken Italiano, mozzarella dippers and the Tiramisu McFlurry.
The new menu items will be available to buy from 11am tomorrow, July 27, and will run until September 6.
Those signed up to the new MyMcDonald’s rewards app will also be able to earn points on their order. The programme is available via the McDonald’s App, where shoppers can earn 100 points for every £1 spent. Every penny spent equates to one point, and can be redeemed against menu items, or donated to charity.
Collecting 1,500 points will allow customers to choose between menu items including small fries, hash browns or a side salad. With 2,500 points, a double cheeseburger or vegetable deluxe is on the cards.
Finally, with 4,000 points, worth £4, fans can choose between menu favourites like six chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac.
Customers who are opted in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and order and pay through the McDonald’s App will automatically earn points on their order – this includes McDelivery when ordered via the app. Alternatively, customers can get a one-time code, which is available in the ‘code’ section of the app at the start of their order at Drive-Thru, kiosk or counter to earn points on their order.
