McDonald’s has delighted customers by finally announcing when its popular Monopoly game will return to restaurants.
The fast food giant first launched the promotion back in 2005, giving customers the chance to win a range of free prizes. You can collect game pieces inspired by the classic board game when you buy menu items such as fries, wraps and McFlurrys, and peel on the pack to see if you’re a winner.
You can then choose to either cash in your winning game piece instantly to get some free food, or collect property pieces in a set of the same colour to win an even bigger prize. Prices for the rarest sets in previous years have included a £100,000 cash prize, brand new cars, and a free McDonald’s meal every week for a year.

McDonald’s has announced that Monopoly will return to all restaurants on Wednesday, 7 September. And the business has also revealed that an exciting change will take place for this year’s game.
The new Double Peel option means that customers will now be able to peel a game piece on their food pack, and then peel it again on the McDonald’s app - giving them double the chance to collect their sets and win prizes. The app features a digital game board and prize wallet, with thousands of prizes set to be announced soon.
