Fast food giants McDonald’s and Burger King are offering points for patties with their first ever loyalty cards.
The MyMcDonald’s scheme launches tomorrow following a successful trial in the North West, while the Your Burger King scheme goes nationwide next week after a pilot in Scotland.
McDonald’s diners will earn a point for every penny spent. When they hit certain targets, they can trade them in for food or donate them to charity.
Michelle Graham-Clare, senior vice-president of McDonald’s UK and Ireland, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme in the UK. As well as rewarding customers with our menu items, we’re delighted to give customers the option of donating points to our charity partners.
“We were delighted with the response during our recent trial.”
Burger King customers will get 10 points for every £1 spent. There are 22 different rewards on offer.
The company said: “The platform offers customers a more personalised experience and access to rewards that they can’t get anywhere else. It’s a way to say thank you to our customers.”
