Ally McCoist would take Sean Dyche as Rangers' next permanent manager 'all day'.
The Englishman is currently out of work after being sacked by Everton in January following a five-match winless run.
Rangers are on the hunt for a new permanent boss, with Barry Ferguson in interim charge until the end of the season.

Kevin Thelwell profiled: Wolves rebuild, MLS success & proven eye for talent
The 47-year-old has five games left in the Ibrox hotseat. He temporarily took over from Philippe Clement in February, although it remains to be seen who will be the Belgian's long-term replacement.
Live on talkSport this morning, Dyche was touted as a potential option: "I’d take Sean [Dyche at Rangers] all day," said McCoist in response.
"I think Sean Dyche is an excellent manager, excellent. His work at Burnley was nothing short of remarkable."
Interestingly, Rangers' potential new sporting director, Kevin Thelwell, was involved in appointing Dyche at Everton.
The 51-year-old is the leading candidate for the role, having already visited the club's training ground and met several of the hierarchy.
Thelwell had stints at Wolves and New York Red Bulls before his time at Goodison Park.
At Molineux, he helped construct a Wolves team that included identifying and recruiting players like Diogo Jota, who is now starring for Liverpool, Ruben Neves, Adama Traore, Leander Dendoncker and Conor Coady
Across the pond in New York, Thelwell rebuilt the Red Bulls' squad and helped them reach the playoffs for the twelfth consecutive year in 2021. They had the youngest roster in the MLS at the time.
He departed his role at Everton just last month.
