Australian light heavyweight Billy McAllister suffered a nasty cut above his eye as he suffered a split decision loss at the Commonwealth Games.
Featherweight Charlie Senior shook his head in disappointment when his round of 16 bout also ended with a split decision against him.
McAllister's fight against Jamaican Jerone Ellis was ended early in the third round as he bled from the three-centimetre cut above his eye.
He also suffered a cut to his left cheek in the second round.
Despite those wounds it was a tight 3-2 verdict against McAllister, with all five judges giving the second round to the Australian.
McAllister did not appear in distress after his fight, but he needed stitches and was unavailable to media.
Earlier, Senior thought he had done enough to claim his fight against Canadian Keoma-Ali Al-Ahmadadieh.
But the judges thought otherwise with a 3-2 decision against him.
"I boxed cleaner, I was on the back foot, but I was counter-punching, or I was on the front foot setting up with a jab," he said.
"I thought I landed the cleaner punches - boxed cleaner, looked sharper, but one judge didn't give me a single round.
"So when push comes to shoves, he was just better on the night - according to the judges, anyway."
Al-Ahmadadieh also queried the judges, saying he thought he won the first round, but he was bullish after the win.
"I was born for this - one day I'm going to sell 50,000 tickets," he said.
