Maye Musk Says ‘The Future is Here’ as Viral Video Shows Tesla Deploying FSD in Factory Logistics

In traditional Tesla (TSLA) a fashion, the company recently unveiled a unique perk of being a leader in self-driving technology: vehicles at the Giga Texas facility now use Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology to transport themselves to various storage and work stations. Vehicles are autonomously navigating from the end of the production line to the outbound logistics lot, marking a real-world integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Tesla’s manufacturing pipeline. While the development is a great showcase of the technology, it also shows how FSD has the ability to be a force multiplier and cost-saving measure for the company.

This development was revealed in a post by Tesla AI’s official X account, which stated:“Giga Texas production now uses FSD Unsupervised to deliver cars from end of line to the outbound logistics lot. Over 50,000 driverless miles have been accrued between California and Texas factories so far.”

Maye Musk, mother of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and an influential public figure in her own right, responded to the post simply stating: “The future is here.”

Inside the Technology: Tesla’s FSD in the Real World

While Tesla’s FSD has seen controversial and limited rollouts on public roads, its implementation within a tightly controlled factory setting removes many of the external variables that challenge autonomous systems. In this use case, the FSD software navigates vehicles through factory corridors, staging lanes, and outdoor lots — all without human supervision.

What makes this update particularly noteworthy is not just the scale — 50,000 driverless miles between two massive production facilities — but the fact that it’s happening inside operational logistics frameworks, effectively optimizing end-to-end delivery times.

Don't Miss:

The FSD program's training, powered by Tesla's Dojo supercomputer and refined with real-world data from millions of vehicles, is finally finding high-stakes industrial applications.

Adding to the momentum, a newly released video reveals a tunnel from The Boring Company being used to assist in streamlining factory logistics. While details remain sparse, the video shows autonomous Tesla vehicles navigating through a Boring Company tunnel, potentially linking logistics hubs or enabling faster vehicle transfers across facilities.

This crossover between Musk-led ventures highlights how Tesla continues to vertically integrate and leverage synergies within the Musk ecosystem — a unique strategic advantage.

Investment & Market Implications

While unlikely to move the needle in its own right, Tesla stock has remained resilient over the years, largely due to the prospects of its self-driving technology. Tesla hit all-time highs in December, but has since retreated alongside a broader market pullback amid concerns with tariffs and an ongoing trade war with China. Despite this, the company still has a $765 billion price tag, and could climb higher once they have a true full self-driving product ready for every Tesla owner.
