Maya Jama reveals Hollywood hunk is huge fan of Love Island and pulled her for a chat

Maya Jana has revealed that screeches of “I’ve got a text!” can be heard all the way in Hollywood.

The Love Island presenter, 28, revealed that she was pulled for a chat by A-lister Tobey Maguire at a glitzy Vogue event in Cannes - and he's a huge fan of the show.

She told The Sun : “I was sat next to Tobey Maguire — Spider-Man — the other day and he loves the show. He’s a big fan. Tobey and I were together at a dinner.

“He loved the show and he knew all the series and everything.”

Star-struck Tobey, 47, previously accosted former islanders Millie Court and Lucinda Strafford at Caochella festival in 2021 - who mistook him for England football ace Harry Maguire.

Also chatting to the paper, the show's executive producer Mike Spencer added that Barbie star Margot Robbie is also an avid viewer.

He said: "She just loves the show.”

A-list stars Amy Schumer and Lizzo have also previously taken interest in the series, which sees single participants couple up in an effort to find love - and win a £50,000 prize.

Maya added: “You forget how many people watch it because it’s all over the world.”

“It’s just everywhere you go. Before it would just be young people but now it’s nannas too.

“I flew to New York recently and the woman at immigration wasn’t asking me any questions about why I was in the country, but instead everything that went down in the last series.”

Maya only officially took the reins of the cult dating series in January this year when it aired its winter series in South Africa, replacing Laura Whitmore - who had been called upon to stand in for then replace tragic Caroline Flack.

Her fashion choices became as much of a must-see as the drama itself, and there’s more sartorial bombshells planned for the new series, starting Monday night.

Maya said: “We’ve had meetings, because of the pressure of living up to the last series.

“The first outfit has cut-out sections, that’s all I’ll tell you. I don’t know if I’ll do wet- look again.

“We do it by episode, so the first looks are planned.

“What was making me laugh was all the dupes that came out. They are so fast, copying the outfits.”

They have also done several test runs to make sure there are no unfortunate wardrobe malfunctions.
