Red Bull Salzburg captain Maximilian Wöber has previously revealed his intentions to play abroad again amid reports linking him with a move to Leeds United.
Leeds are reportedly 'preparing' an offer for Wöber, who is capable of playing as both a centre-back and left-back. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Whites are set to open talks over a deal that could reach €16 million including add-ons.
Jesse Marsch signed Wöber during his reign at Red Bull Salzburg in 2019. Wöber had spent a single season at Sevilla prior to his return to Austria, and had also enjoyed a stint at Ajax.
The 24-year-old, who has been capped 13 times by Austria, has thrived with the Red Bulls and even penned a new contract until 2025 back in the summer. However, the defender still has ambitions to prove himself abroad once again.
“The ambitions are still there [to play abroad] but Salzburg showed me a great path that I would like to follow," Wöber told World Today News in June.

“I think I’ve made a very good impression over the last three years through my performance, how I act as a personality in the dressing room and also in the media for Salzburg.
"The discussions with Christoph Freund and Stephan Reiter have clearly shown that they really want to keep me and it was also in my interest to extend the contract. It was a perfect fit for both sides."
