Max Verstappen in pointed Sergio Perez dig as Red Bull infighting after Canadian Grand Prix gets F1 fans talking

Max Verstappen has taken a pointed dig at his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez - saying Canadian Grand Prix would have been "very different" if it had been left to the Spaniard. .

The two F1 stars have had contrasting years with Verstappen's incredible form firing him to the top of the F1 Drivers Championship - 69 points ahead of second place Perez. He won the showpiece event in Montreal while Perez finished some way back in sixth as his early season form continues to fade. He crashed out of the Monaco Grand Prix and thoroughly underwhelmed in Canada.

And Verstappen, who has won his last three races while Perez hasn't even finished on the podium in any of them, said the Montral event would have been "very different" for Red Bull if he wasn't there to pick up the pieces, appearing to accuse his teammate of not pulling his weight.

He said: "Well, if I wasn't here today, obviously it would have been very different for the team. That's one way of looking at it."
