Max Johnston has been to visit Norwich City as transfer talk around the Motherwell right-back continues.
European heavyweights like Monaco and Sporting have been linked with the Scotland youth international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, although his current side will be due a compensation fee should he move on from Fir Park. English interest is also present in Johnston and Norwich City are the latest club to throw their hat in the ring.
They have gone a step forward according to The Pink Un, by bringing the 20-year-old to their Colney training ground for a look 'in recent weeks'. Current Canaries right-back Max Aarons has 12 months left on his deal and another right-back in Sam Byram has been released following an average campaign that had them finish outside the Championship play-off spots. It is claimed the Motherwell star is "among their list of targets in that area of the pitch."
Since making his debut in ML1 in 2021, Johnston has spent time out on loan at Queen of the South and Cove Rangers before establishing himself as a 'Well regular this term under Stuart Kettlewell. He has been nominated for SFWA's Young Player of the Year.
