Max Holloway got what he wanted.
The former UFC featherweight champion has been booked against fellow veteran Chan Sung Jung to headline the UFC’s return to Singapore on Aug. 26. The news was announced Thursday by UFC president Dana White.
Holloway (24-7 MMA, 20-7 UFC) respectfully issued “The Korean Zombie” a challenge after he beat Arnold Allen by unanimous decision in the UFC on ESPN 44 main event in April. Holloway said Jung (17-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is the only big-name fighter during his time that he’s yet to fight.
Jung was quick to accept the callout, and said a fight with Holloway would set his “mind on fire.” The two-time title challenger most recently suffered a lopsided TKO loss to champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273 in April 2022. Prior to that, Jung had won three of four – including back-to-back Round 1 TKOs over Renato Moicano and Frankie Edgar.
There are no other bouts confirmed for this event at this time.
