Max George documents removal of Stacey Giggs tattoo as he moves on with Maisie Smith

Max George is going out of his way to remove all trace of his ex girlfriend Stacey Giggs - as he shared snaps of him getting a tattoo tribute to the former WAG covered up.

It comes as The Wanted star has moved on with EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, after being pictured on holiday with her and packing on the PDA in the street as they shopped for home furnishings.

Taking to Instagram, Max told fans he was covering up his former inking, which was a tattoo of Stacey's name on his wrist which he had undergone as a romantic gesture during their four year relationship.

But after leaving Stacey, Max documented his trip to INK'D tattoo studio in Fulham, London where he got a large lion and rose tattoo on his forearm instead.

It's thought that the 33-year-old left the tattoo as a surprise for his new girlfriend Maisie, 21.

The Daily Mail reported that Max boasted: "She will just have to wait and see. I have shown a few designs and that but nothing, not that big. She likes tattoos, I've got a few already so it should be a nice surprise.

"I have wanted this for years, it's not about anyone in particular, it's not overly meaningful. It's just the mix of the lion, I love lions and the rose, which matches the first tattoo I ever got.

"A guy showed me a design which I loved about ten years ago and I've just come down to London to spend a bit of time here and I thought you know what, change of scenery, get a new tat, new me, innit? Got my nails done."

Maisie and Max's relationship was revealed just days after Stacey and Max's split.

The new couple were spotted enjoying a loved-up holiday together in Crete.

The two of them haven't spoken about each other much in public, but passengers on their flight could see they were clearly loved up.

Passengers reportedly told The Sun that the pair were 'all over each other' on the packed flight.

A passenger told the publication: "They looked like a very loved-up couple — they were all over each other for the entire four-hour flight.

"Snogging and giggling like any new couple."

They are thought the have grown close on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour after being on the show together back in 2020.

Max and Maisie have since been seen together multiple times, with rumours sparked that they could be moving in together.

They have been spotted buying items for their home and are thought to be living together in London.

Despite their relationship coming as a surprise to the the public, the two seem to be pretty serious already.

Sex and Relationships expert Jess Leoni thinks that the quick pace of their relationship could be due to both being on Strictly together.

The expert at Illicit Encounters, a marital affairs site, exclusively told The Mirror: "Max and Maisie’s relationship does seem to be moving very fast but when you know, you know. It only takes one conversation to know if you have a spark and things in common.

"Max and Maisie found that from their experiences on Strictly."
