Mavericks Raise Season Ticket Prices 8.61% For 2025-26 Season

The Dallas Mavericks have lost quite a bit of fan support in their hometown since they traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers and Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending ACL tear, and the Mavs could lose more support in the future when they raise season ticket prices by 8.61%.

Dallas Mavericks Are Increasing Season Ticket Prices By 8.61% To Invest In Team, Fan Engagement

The Mavericks said season tickets will go up by an average of 8.61% next season at the American Airlines Center, and the increase is due to “ongoing investments in the team and fan engagement.”

Ticket price increases are unfortunately the NBA’s industry standard, but this decision was likely made in light of the aftermath of the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.

The Mavs also mentioned in Monday’s statement that the prices of season tickets represent projected savings of 15-23% compared to the secondary market for next season.

However, that number could be misleading. Season-ticket prices are relatively stable compared to secondary-market prices, which can vary based on game factors like opponent, health, and fan interest.

Season-ticket costs for the Club Access Level, which includes premium seats and floor-area seating, will rise more than 10%, and terrace-level seats are increasing from $20 to $24 per game.

The Mavs said approximately 4,200 seats per game are still below $40.

Mavericks Offered Refunds To Fans Who Canceled Their Season Tickets In The Wake Of The Doncic Trade

More importantly, the Mavericks reportedly offered some fans refunds on their season tickets after the trade. Since the Mavs had 16 home games left of the regular season at the time of that report, the refund was valued at roughly $2,000.

That news came as hundreds of fans protested outside the American Airlines Center. Others have been thrown out of the arena over the past month for voicing their displeasure with the team’s management.

After the trade, the Mavericks’ Instagram follower count also dropped from 5.3 million to 4.6 million, while Doncic gained nearly 400,000 new followers just hours later, according to RotoGrinders.

The Lakers also gained over 185,000 followers within hours of landing the five-time All-NBA member.

Kyrie Irving Tore His Left ACL, Anthony Davis Could Be Ruled Out For The Rest Of The Season

In addition, Paul Livengood of WFAA Dallas reported there was a GoFundMe started by fans to raise money to buy billboards to let the Mavericks know how upset they were with the Doncic trade. A brewery in the area even started selling a “sell the team” beer.

Needless to say, nothing has gone right for Dallas. Anthony Davis, the All-Star acquired in the Doncic deal, sustained a left adductor strain in his first game in a Mavericks uniform. And according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, he could be sidelined the rest of the season.

Kyrie Irving is also out for the season after tearing his left ACL against the Sacramento Kings on Monday night.

Then there’s Quentin Grimes, a young shooting guard dealt separately in February, who just scored 44 points for the Philadelphia 76ers in a win over the Golden State Warriors.

It would appear as if the new Mavs owners are trying to move the team to Las Vegas. The Adelson family continues to deny the relocation rumors, but fans are starting to believe that conspiracy theory at this point.
