Mauricio Pochettino has been tipped to be a "big success" at Chelsea by former Premier League winner Sergio Aguero. The Argentine will officially take over at Stamford Bridge at the start of July after being appointed as Graham Potter's successor.
Pochettino will arrive in SW6 with the big task of dragging the Blues back to the pinnacle of English football after last season's 12th-placed finish in the Premier League - their worst finish and points tally (44) since the league was founded in 1992.
The former Tottenham boss is expected to be backed in the summer transfer window. football.london understands he wants to sign a new goalkeeper, defender and attacker.
And ahead of him starting his reign at Stamford Bridge, Aguero has backed his compatriot to success at Chelsea. "His input can be very valuable. Already at Tottenham he has shown his worth and that he empowers young players," he told Stake.com.
"He has a big task ahead of him because he has a very large squad and he will have to find a balance. Chelsea, in addition to the previous market in which it has had many new signings, has had a policy of buying young players who can get to assemble very well. You have to give him time to do his job and I'm sure you'll see the results."
Aguero went even further in his praise for Pochettino by backing him to get the best out of Argentina World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez. The £106million January signing showed glimpses of his quality in the second half of the season but suffered with the lack of a consistent partner in midfield.

"As I said, Poch always empowers his young players, and Enzo is one of those," the former Manchester City striker said. "This was his first season in England and although Chelsea did not perform well, he showed that he is up to the task of this great league. I think that with Pochettino's hand he will perform even more and better."
