Chelsea are closing in on the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the club's the new manager. Reports have suggested Todd Boehly is set to make a final decision on the Blues' new head coach this week with an announcement expected in the coming days.
football.london reported earlier this month that whilst no agreement has been reached yet between Chelsea and Pochettino, talks have been very positive between the two parties. Pochettino has been without a job after leaving PSG following their Ligue 1 title success at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The Argentine has set a series of demands during discussions with the west Londoners including bringing in his own backroom staff to assist him, if he is appointed as Potter's successor. Frank Lampard is set to assist the transition from the end of his role as caretaker manager into the summer transfer window.

Pochettino is looking to add new signings in three key areas of the Chelsea squad ahead of next season - a new goalkeeper, central midfielder and striker. However, the 51-year-old is aware that his demands will only be granted once the Blues move on a number of current senior players in their bloated squad.
A report from The Daily Mail has stated that Pochettino would like to add players with Premier League pedigree to the Chelsea squad - a decision which may impact the club's pursuit of Napoli star Victor Osimhen. The Italian outfit lifted their first Serie A title in 33 years earlier this month and Osimhen has been a standout performer for Luciano Spaletti's side this term.
The Nigeria international has scored 28 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions - sparking interest in his services from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United. Napoli are understood to have set a price tag of £130million to let Osimhen leave the club this summer.
When asked whether the 24-year-old is up for sale this summer, Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, responded: "I will not sell Victor Osimhen this summer – no way." The Blues may turn their attention to alternative targets that have proved themselves in the Premier League if they appoint Pochettino following his demand to sign players with experience in the English top-flight.
Harry Kane could become a priority for the Blues with Pochettino having worked with the England captain during their time together at Spurs. In midfield, the likes of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo are being considered by Chelsea, whilst Brentford's David Raya and Brighton's Robert Sanchez are possible targets to sign as a new goalkeeper.
