Chelsea have been given a huge boost in their transfer pursuit of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer. The Blues are set to meet with the Italian outfit following their UEFA Champions League final loss against Manchester City - with the future of Romelu Lukaku set to be discussed.
football.london reported earlier this month that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a new striker, central midfielder and goalkeeper this summer. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have failed to prove they deserve to remain as Chelsea's No.1 goalkeeper heading into next season and Pochettino is keen on signing a new shot-stopper.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have now been handed a boost as they remain interested in Champions League runner-up Onana, with Inter having already identified a replacement. The report states that Simone Inzaghi's side have found a replacement in Guglielmo Vicario, Empoli's goalkeeper, and will push to sign the shot-stopper ahead of next season.
The Sun also state that Pochettino is a 'huge admirer' of Onana and is 'eager to get a deal done' for the goalkeeper. The 27-year-old put in a brilliant performance in Istanbul against City and was unfortunate to be on the losing side.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that Inter are expected to sign talented Danish goalkeeper Theo Sander on a contract until 2027. However, Sander's arrival is not linked to Onana's future at the San Siro.
Chelsea are looking to move a number of players on ahead of next season and could offer Kalidou Koulibaly in a potential swap deal for Onana. The Senegal international was renowned for being a solid defender in Italy but he struggled during his debut season at Stamford Bridge after arriving from Napoli in a £35million deal last summer.

Reports last week claimed that Chelsea had a £34million bid for Onana rejected by Inter ahead of the Champions League final - with the Italian giants valuing their goalkeeper at £55million. Inter need to raise funds ahead of the summer transfer window which could see the likes of Onana, Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella all be sold as Inzaghi looks to revamp his squad.
