Mauricio Pochettino gets two-year Chelsea transfer plan confirmed with new deal completed

Mauricio Pochettino is yet to be announced as the new manager at Chelsea and transfer plans are already in place for not only his arrival but also years down the line. He is set to benefit from the long-length contracts tying down star young players to the best part of a decade at Stamford Bridge.

Both Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk are committed until 2030 and beyond whilst Malo Gusto, Benoit Badiashile and Noni Madueke all have feature-length deals. The mass amortisation has attracted plenty of criticism from pundits but it does hand Pochettino some stability with what the future will look like.

He is already set to clear-out a large portion of the underperforming and overpaid stars that have left the current squad bloated but will have to contend with new arrivals as well. Christopher Nkunku is already in place to join up with his new teammates on July 1 after a pre-agreement to move from RB Leipzig.

Returning loanees Levi Colwill and Romelu Lukaku will also have futures to sort out but there are more long-term decisions to be made. Chelsea invested so heavily last summer in young stars - teenagers Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina all joined for over £50m whilst Omari Hutchinson moved from Arsenal.

After a first season of mixed success for each of them they are the group for tomorrow that Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are committed to funding. For Pochettino that is already an area of the club that he has been open about backing with heavy youth involvement a pillar of his teams.

He will have another player to consider, too, after 16-year-old Ecuador midfielder Kendry Paez was confirmed as moving to the club. Independiente del Valle director Santiago Morales admitted as much, saying: “Kendry, after two years will go to Chelsea.

"Officials from the team and the doctor came to carry out some tests.”

Kendry is said to have signed the contract with the club last month and a deal will be paid across the two-years leading up to his 18th birthday. It is not the first type of deal in this format, either. Jamaican forward Dujuan Richards was signed earlier this year. The 17-year-old announced his pre-agreement on social media from Phoenix All Stars and adds to a plethora of teenagers on the books.

It not only provides a foundation for the future of the club but also gives Pochettino more to work towards. It has been nearly five years since a Chelsea manager lasted two-years in the job and Pochettino himself didn't get that far at Paris Saint-Germain.

His record before that with Tottenham was immensely successful and helped to bring through and develop a group of young stars that have gone on to play for their country. As well as helping to transition Chelsea from their struggles of this year, Pochettino has the goal of getting Kendry and his other potential teammates into the side.
