Maurice Ross likes the energy Barry Ferguson has brought to Rangers since taking interim charge at Ibrox, as he delivered his verdict on the club's search for a new permanent manager.
Ferguson was named interim boss less than 24 hours after Philippe Clement's dismissal and secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park a few days later.
Aside from a 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell, Ferguson has passed his first few games at the helm with flying colours, having navigated Rangers to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and securing a memorable 3-2 win at Parkhead.

His arrival was just what Rangers needed, in the eyes of ex-right-back Ross: "It's what the club and owners were looking for at that moment in time," he told The Rangers Review.
"If you could feel Ibrox before Barry came in, it was getting edgy, and the fans were starting to turn, so I think the club were looking for a bit of buy-in from the fans so the takeover would go smoothly.
"His results have been good so far, just the energy of the football club, the fans have got a bit of pride back, I think Barry and his staff and the players have done very well so far."
It remains to be seen who will take permanent charge of Rangers going into next season amid Ferguson's interim success: "There is no exact manager you need, but what the club do need is investment in the playing squad," said Ross.
"It's about getting the takeover finalised... And then making a decision on who that's going to be [the next permanent manager].
"If that's with Barry at the helm, good luck to him.
"I like the vibe, and I like the energy that's around the club at the minute."
