Maura Higgins has bravely revealed a horror story of being sexually assaulted by a taxi driver in the backseat of the cab. The Love Island star was taking part in a Q&A with fans on her Instagram page when one fan asked the 31-year-old what her worst encounter with a man has been.
The Irish beauty, who also claimed she had experienced something even worse but wasn’t ready to open up about yet, went on to discuss what happened that night in Ireland. Answering the question, she said: “So would you believe I actually have many. Like, a few. The worst one I’ve never ever opened up to any of you about and I don’t even think I’m ready yet.
“It was probably one of the scariest things that’s ever happened to me. I also had an incident with a taxi driver before, a long time ago, in Ireland. Silly me, I fell asleep. I probably told you this story, I don’t know if I have.”
She continued: “I fell asleep, my friends were dropped off before me and I was being dropped off alone. Because I lived on my own at the time and I woke up and his hand was right up my skirt, and honestly, I sobered up so quickly. I memorised his taxi number so quick and I still remembered it the next day.”
Maura didn’t go into any further details on what happened after the horrific incident and whether she reported it, say Mirror Online.
The star went on to answer more questions sent in by fans, such as her favourite Ann Summers shoot, whether she’s single as well as her proudest moment. Maura rose to fame on Love Island in 2019, where she entered as a bombshell and finished fourth place with ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard.
Since being on the show, the gorgeous star has collaborated with many brands such as Beauty Works and Ann Summers. She is said to have a net worth of around £1 million, as reported by Irish Mirror.
Maura has released a line of hair stylers, extensions, a make-up collection with Inglot, and much more. Her most notable brand deal however has been with Ann Summers, with her reportedly having secured a six-figure sum to front advertisements for the lingerie company.
The beauty also appeared on Dancing on Ice.
