Maura Higgins 'bills designer €13.6K for loss of earnings' after 'inappropriate' dress

Love Island’s Maura Higgins has reportedly billed designer Scott Henshall over €13.6k for “loss of earnings” after she refused to wear the dress he’d designed for her for the British Fashion Awards.

Maura was supposed to attend the event in a Scott Henshall dress, reportedly designed to resemble a 2002 chainmail dress that socialite Paris Hilton wore.

However, Maura later explained that she decided to not attend the event and wear the dress at the last minute, as she felt it was "not very appropriate".

Now, according to the Mail Online, the 32-year-old Longford bombshell has billed Scott €14,527.04, which includes a €766 fee for hairstyling.

A source said to the publication: “Maura is attempting to charge Scott over €13,600 for loss of earnings after she skipped the British Fashion Awards".

The source continued to describe the situation as a “disaster” while questioning why the star billed him for hairstyling when “she insisted on having her own glam squad on the day".

OK! has contacted Maura and Scott’s representatives for comment.

Speaking on the night of the British Fashion Awards, Maura told her 3.6 million Instagram followers: “So, guys everyone is messaging me saying where are you and where are the red-carpet pictures?

“I've had a bit of a nightmare. So, obviously as you can see, I am fully ready. Glam team are on point as usual. Basically, the dress, shoes, everything, just wasn't something that I'd probably wear.

“I just feel like it's not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards and obviously I do like to go daring you guys know that, but I just feel it's not right.”

Scott, 47, dressed multiple people that night, including Lady Victoria Hervey and model Talulah Eve, with a source later telling The Sun that the designer prioritised his other clients over Maura.

They said: “It was mortifying. Poor Maura was so patient and she ended up being totally stood up.

"To add insult to injury, Victoria ended up leaving with a bag which was meant to be for Maura. It was a mess.

“Scott’s team have repeatedly apologised to Maura but the damage is done. It was a nightmare".

"It's absolutely not true to say that Scott left Maura for three hours.

"He is a professional and the weakness is unfortunately in his PR team. Maura wanted to get her own makeup and hair team in her room".
