Matty Healy broke his silence amid his supposed split from Taylor Swift.
The 1975 frontman made a speech during his concert in Vienna, and admitted to spending time with "his boys" while coping with the end of the whirlwind relationship.
“My friend had some very, very beautiful signs that said, ‘You are loved’. That was very, very kind of you," he said in the speech caught on camera by a fan in the audience.
“I’m sure that’s alluding to…” he started to say, before stopping. “As you’re aware, I’m not very online at the moment and I’m sure people have just been calling me a c**t relentlessly.
"I’ve not been online, but what I have been with is my boys," Matty added before referring to the signs once again and concluding: “And honestly, as much as I appreciate that.
"It’s so beautiful, and I thank you. But I don’t need it, because I’ve got them."
For the first time during their tour, the band ended their set with a tragic love song about unrequited love, with Matty saying: "I loved her but she didn't feel the same way.
"I don't even think she knew I loved her, as she and I became close friends, we had traditions. We'd somehow always coincidentally be out at exactly 1:02AM, so that was our thing.
"Now whenever I'm awake at 1:02AM, I think of her and I let her go," he added.
Taylor and Matty were said to be dating after her break-up from British actor Joe Alwyn in April and things started move quickly when reports claimed Matty was moving in to "help Taylor with her upcoming album" while on tour.
However, earlier this week, sources revealed that the romance had come to an abrupt end.
"Taylor and Matty broke up," a source announced earlier this week. "They are both extremely busy and realised they're not really compatible with each other.
"Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship," the source told Entertainment Tonight.
