Matty Healy appears to address ‘split’ from Taylor Swift during latest show

Matty Healy appeared to address his ‘split’ from Taylor Swift during his concert in Vienna on Monday.

The Lavender Haze singer, 33, and The 1975 frontman, 34, first sparked rumours of a romance in May and were then spotted on a number of cosy-looking outings, with speculation mounting that he was even set to move in with her.

The news, however, caused a backlash due to a number of controversial remarks made in the past by Healy, who is the son of former Coronation Street and Loose Women star Denise Welch.

Now, the British musician alluded to the possible break-up as he noticed several signs from fans expressing their support for him during his band’s latest gig.

In a video shared on Twitter, Healy began: “My friend had some very, very beautiful signs that said, ‘You are loved’. That was very, very kind of you.

“I’m sure that’s alluding to…” he started to say, before stopping. “As you’re aware, I’m not very online at the moment and I’m sure people have just been calling me a c**t relentlessly.”

The Caroline singer then assured fans that he was doing good and was spending time with his friends in the wake of the reports.

He continued: “I’ve not been online, but what I have been with is my boys.”

Referring to the signs once again, Healy concluded: “And honestly, as much as I appreciate that. It’s so beautiful, and I thank you. But I don’t need it, because I’ve got them.”

His comments come after Swift sang an emotional break-up song days before her ‘split’ from Healy was made public.

The Cruel Summer singer appeared close to tears as she sang ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ during a concert in Chicago over the weekend.

“Wondering if I dodged a bullet, or just lost the love of my life?” she sang.

Fans commented on Swift’s performance on social media, with on saying: “That line is hitting a little too close to home for her.”

Swift and Healy began seeing each other following the demise of her relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, who she dated for six years.

However, a source told US outlet People the relationship was “always casual”.

“She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved,” the source told People.
