When a big sporting event is on the horizon, you better believe the occasion will call for Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale to emerge and make one of his attention-grabbing wagers. So, with the NFL playoffs resuming this weekend, can we count on the furniture store owner turned famous sports bettor to have skin in the game?
Of course!
As usual, the Texas native McIngvale has his money on riding on a home-state team — this time, the Dallas Cowboys. Ahead of Sunday’s divisional round duel between the Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, he placed a $2 million moneyline bet at Caesars Sportsbook on the Cowboys to pull off the upset in the Bay Area.

McIngvale netted the largest payout in U.S. sports gambling history last November after the Houston Astros won the MLB World Series. His combined $8 million bet on the Astros (across multiple sportsbooks) led to a $75 million payout.
But he wasn’t as successful in the following months. Riding with the Texas team again, McIngvale bet and lost $1.5 million on the TCU Horned Frogs after losing the College Football Playoff National Championship to Georgia.
Can the Cowboys help Mattress Mack get back in the winning column this Sunday?
