The Los Angeles Rams have had their roster decimated by injuries this season and Matthew Stafford is the latest to go down. Sean McVay told reporters on Wednesday that Stafford has been put in the concussion protocol.
McVay originally said Stafford entered the protocol on Wednesday, but a team spokesperson said after the coach’s press conference that it was actually Tuesday. Either way, it raises doubt about his availability for this weekend’s game against the Cardinals. Stafford has not missed a game since 2019 when he was with the Lions, proving to be one of the most durable and toughest quarterbacks in the NFL.
If Stafford misses Sunday’s contest against Arizona, John Wolford would be the starting quarterback. Bryce Perkins is the third quarterback on the 53-man roster.
