Matthew Stafford might be the toughest quarterback in the NFL, constantly battling through pain and injuries throughout his career. That’s why when he had big D.J. Reader land on his left ankle, there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of concern about Stafford’s chances of staying in the game.
Stafford limped off the field and had his ankle re-taped in the second half, but he never missed a single snap. After the game, Stafford shared an update on his injured ankle, and it was the perfect response – exactly what you’d expect the Rams quarterback to say.
He said very simply, “It’s still attached so we’re good.”

Stafford doesn’t have another game to worry about until September, so he has plenty of time to kick his feet up and let that ankle heal before the 2022 regular season begins.
