Matthew Stafford had police inspect his home for potential security flaws amid burglaries

A number of professional athletes have had their homes burglarized in recent months and Matthew Stafford doesn’t want his house to be added to the list.

According to TMZ Sports, Stafford asked police and NFL security to inspect his Los Angeles home to ensure there are no weak spots or vulnerabilities. TMZ’s report says the league specifically asked police about “the South American burglary crews believed to be behind all the hits … as well as how they can work together to make it more difficult for the criminals to execute their operation.”

More from TMZ Sports:

Law enforcement sources tell us league staffers and cops met at the Super Bowl champ’s residence this month to scope out his current setup … and provided tips and safety measures on what his family can do further to deter crooks from targeting his pad.

The FBI has issued a warning to professional sports leagues about the string of burglaries, which are believed to be committed by organized theft groups who have been specifically targeting athletes.

Both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their homes burglarized in the past few months, as did Joe Burrow. NBA players have also been victims of these burglaries, with Luka Doncic being among them.
