Matthew Perry’s quick wit and self-deprecating humour made Chandler Bing perhaps the best-loved character on Friends.
The actor, who died at the age of 54, transformed the part from what was originally planned as a sidekick to be arguably the show’s most important element.
Perry said that Chandler’s mannerisms “changed the way America spoke” as he took centre stage with his on-screen romance with Monica.
But despite his acting talents, displayed across 236 episodes of the sitcom, he never had an illustrious film career - something that was true of all the leads on Friends.
