In a heartfelt Valentine's Day gesture, DJ Matthew Koma expressed his gratitude towards his wife's exes. Koma took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos featuring actress Hilary Duff being 'saved' by the men from her past relationships, thanking them for their bravery.
Koma's post began with a cozy picture of himself and Duff enjoying the water during a trip to Costa Rica in 2017. He then included images of Duff on the beach with her ex-boyfriends, Ely Sandvik and Jason Walsh. Sandvik and Duff had a brief relationship during a break in her relationship with Koma, while Walsh dated Duff for five months in 2016.
Although Koma poked fun at the situation and expressed appreciation for these men, Duff seemed less thrilled with the shout-out. She playfully commented, 'You are truly ill, Matthew.' However, Duff's 'How I Met Your Father' co-star, Francia Raisa, found the humor and joined in, expressing gratitude with laughing emojis.
Interestingly, Koma omitted any mention or image of Duff's ex-husband, Mike Comrie. Despite the omission, Duff and Koma's relationship has overcome its own challenges. After a few breakups, they got engaged in May 2019 and married in a small ceremony at their Los Angeles home in December of the same year.
The couple's journey to happiness had its bumps, but they eventually found their stride. Duff emphasized the significance of timing, saying, 'Third time's a charm!' in late 2017 when they rekindled their relationship. In June 2018, they confirmed they were expecting their first child together, and in October of the same year, Duff gave birth to their daughter, Banks Violet Bair. In 2021, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Mae, through a home birth. Duff announced in December that they were expecting their third child, further solidifying their growing family.
It's interesting to see Koma's lighthearted appreciation for Duff's exes, showcasing a unique perspective on the dynamics within their relationship. While playful banter between partners may not be everyone's cup of tea, it provides a glimpse into the couple's dynamic and the gratitude they have for each other's past experiences.
