Love Island Australia alum Matt Zukowski has put the media on blast for its extensive coverage surrounding his relationship with influencer Tammy Hembrow.
In an episode of the Where’s Your Head At? podcast, which he hosts with fellow Love Island Austalia star Anna McEvoy, Zukowski vented his frustrations with the media’s coverage of his relationship with Tammy Hembrow, questioning how people come up with the conclusion that their relationship is on the rocks.
“The last time I was down in Melbourne for more than a day, let’s say, without my wife, man, the internet loses their mind, don’t they? There’s articles,” Zukowski recalled before McEvoy chimed in saying it was “gossip outlets” who reported on the relationship tea.
“Yeah, I was gonna say, all [of] them lose their mind. They think we’ve like, gotten divorced or breaking up or on the rocks. They go on this huge [sic] and when I see it or get it sent to me, I’m just like, what is going through people’s minds to get that narrative?” Zukowski continued.
“Like, we’re married, happily married, I can come down and work and stay in Melbourne. I’ve got, you know, obviously friends here, work here, so I stay here. There’s nothing wrong with that. And she, my wife, [stays] up and sees the kids, takes them to school and all that and works.”
The co-hosts continued to express their frustrations with the breakup rumours that specifically stem from Zukowski and Hembrow being spotted in different states.
His co-host Anna McEvoy then said: “Yeah obviously people see that you guys are in different states, and I’m not gonna say freak out, but they’re like, oh, what’s going on there? Like, what’s happening? So, just to clear it up, you guys are good.”
“Yeah I know, more than anything, you just got to laugh about it and just be like really?” Zukowski replied.
“But like, you know, [there’s] nothing wrong with it. And it’s like a double-edged sword because you said that she’s got to go up for her responsibilities. But then when she comes down to Melbourne, they lose their minds as well, and they’re all like, ‘Why is she there? Why isn’t she with the kids? She’s like, running off with Matthew,’ and all this sort of stuff.
“You can’t win. You can’t win. And it’s just, yeah, it’s just funny.”
Zukowski and Hembrow’s relationship has continued to make headlines even after their fairytale wedding which took place in December 2024.
While the wedding was admittedly lush and lovely, the journey down the aisle was rife with breakup rumours which stemmed from suss social media moves, cheating allegations and photos without rings.
Despite this, it seems that the pair have defied the odds and are happily together, with Hembrow recently sharing a sponsored video featuring her Love Island hubby.
Honestly, with all the relationship woes Hembrow went through, I’m glad she found someone. Fingers crossed it’s forever!
