New England Patriots linebacker Matt Judon used the tampering window to begin reaching out to free agents — apparently focusing on linebacker Bobby Wagner and receiver Allen Robinson.
Though many of the pending free agents (like Robinson) will have to wait to officially sign with their teams on Wednesday after the tampering window concludes, Wagner is actually free to sign with a team whenever he wants after the Seattle Seahawks released him for salary cap reasons last week.
New England has reportedly done a large amount of work on the linebacker and receiver markets — and Robinson was a part of that research. These two players are the absolute best players available at their respective positions.

It’s anyone’s guess how the Patriots would afford either of these options. But if there’s mutual interest, perhaps New England would do the necessary cap gymnastics to make it work.
