New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon made history against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He was active on the defensive side of the ball and recorded two sacks on the day. The strip sack he recorded in the second quarter landed him in the Patriots’ history books.
He became the first player in Patriots history to record a sack in the first five games of the regular season. He joins good company, as Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Tippett held the previous record of four straight games.
Judon’s big day just adds to what has been a stellar season for him. He now has six sacks in total and is well on his way to matching his total of 12.5 sacks last season.
