Matt Hancock sets up TV company after £320,000 I'm A Celebrity appearance

Matt Hancock has set up his own TV company following his appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year.

The former Health Secretary faced widespread backlash for his appearance on the reality show but proved to be popular as he made it to the final finishing in third place. The MP lost the Tory whip for taking part in the ITV show Down Under, but earned a staggering £320,000 for the stint, with £10k donated to charity.

Despite the backlash for taking part in the show, Hancock has now set up his own television programming and broadcasting company Greenhazel, where he is listed as the sole director.

The firm was registered with Companies House in January at an address in Newmarket, Suffolk.

Hancock has already set he will step down as an MP at the next General Election, and the launch of his new company means he could be looking to pursue a career in TV.

I'm A Celebrity wasn't the only TV show the disgraced politician filmed last year, as he earned an impressive £45,000 for taking part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on Channel 4.

The reality show sees celebrities undergo a gruelling two week long course under the eyes of Chief Instructor Rudy Reyes, as well as Directing Staff Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox, Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, and Remi Adeleke.

Following on from his various TV appearances, comedian Mo Gilligan even joked that Hancock's next venture would be an appearance on Love Island at the BRIT Awards earlier this month.
