Matt Hancock's tactic to get I'm A Celebrity votes exposed by campmate ahead of final

I'm A Celebrity 2022's Matt Hancock has apparently been going to extra measures to secure votes from the public on the ITV series.

The disgraced Tory MP, who sparked backlash by signing up to the show, has survived all of the public eliminations so far.

Former Health Secretary Hancock is now in the final four - but one campmate has rumbled his desperation to win it seems.

Not only that, they've worked out Hancock's tactic to get more votes and secure the public's backing.

Ahead of Sunday's final, Mike Tindall revealed he's been scuppering Hancock's ploy to get extra votes without him realising it.

He revealed to Seann Walsh and in the Bush Telegraph that he had noticed Hancock doing something every day, that he believed was a bid for more votes - and a sign he "wants to win".

Mike explained that items, mainly t-shirts, which were labelled with Hancock's voting number had been left out in particular locations in camp, so that they were in clear view of the cameras.

The rugby star claimed he was doing this to get more votes to win the show - so Mike has been turning the shirts over to cover the numbers.

Sure enough, Hancock was shown carefully placing an item of clothing, before taking it back when he saw Mike coming towards him.

Mike explained in the Bush Telegraph: "Matt’s making sure his t-shirt and his phone numbers are on display at all times. Matt clearly wants to win."

He added in the Bush Telegraph: "I’m taking great pleasure in turning it around every time he leaves camp.

"Once a politician, always a politician. Always polling for votes."

Mike then said to Seann: "Have you noticed someone’s been advertising themselves? Matt’s been putting all his stuff with ‘Matt’ and the phone number pointing at cameras."

It comes after the disgraced MP made it to the final four, as Seann's exit from the jungle aired on Friday night.

First to go from the series was Loose Women and ITV News star Charlene White, with TV presenter Scarlette Douglas second to leave.

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver was next to go, sparking a sexism row over the vote, while the fourth exit of the series saw campmates wave goodbye to singer Boy George.

Fifth to exit was comedian Babatunde Aleshe, followed by radio star Chris Moyles and then comedian Seann, who entered with Hancock as a late arrival, was seen leaving on Friday night.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'s live final airs on Sunday night at 9PM on ITV and ITVX.
