Dancing on Ice has landed in hot water with its loyal viewers, after Matt Hancock appeared as an unexpected guest on Sunday's show.
As the ITV programme hosted its Dance Week, Matt was spoken to by host Holly Willoughby as he sat in the crowd, alongside girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, to watch the skating stars in action. The sight of him on screen was enough to have many Dancing on Ice fans flocking to Twitter in disgust, with them then left cringing as Holly asked the disgraced former health secretary: "What song would have to be played to get you going?"
Hancock, who finished third on I'm A Celebrity last year, replied: "Well I dance to almost anything; it's more enthusiasm than talent though. A bit of Queen, a bit of Don't Stop Me Now, that might get me going." Holly then quizzed: "Would you ever pop on a sequin and get on our ice," to which he responded: "I think I could do with dressing up a bit. This is so hard; eating cockroaches is nothing compared to how difficult this is."
Fuming at Hancock being on their favourite show, one viewer took to Twitter to react: "Dancing on Ice having Matt Hancock on!! Then, if that’s not bad enough, speaking to him...no more DOI for me! I’ve been a loyal #dancingonice fan since the beginning. No more, I’m so mardy I’ve removed my series link…"
Also annoyed he was given any airtime, another tweeted: "Shame on you for inviting @MattHancock @dancingonice re traumatizing those of us who lost loved ones during covid while that smirking thing groped his bit of fluff while we were “not allowed “to hug or kiss our dying loved ones goodbye," with a third blasting: "why on earth is the C*** matt hancock in the audience ?? Does itv have no compassion or empathy for what Hancock has done and his corruption that had cost this country millions !!"
