Matt Hancock rumoured to be joining Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins line-up

Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock will join the line-up for the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, according to reports.

The Tory MP is said to have ‘impressed bosses’ at Channel 4 and will go on to be put through his paces by former US marine Rudy Reyes in next year’s series. The reports come more than a year after Hancock resigned from his ministerial position, when he was caught on CCTV breaking lockdown rules by having an affair with his colleague Gina Coladangelo.

This year’s series is currently airing weekly on Channel 4, with famous faces including Maisie Smith, Amber Gill, Curtis Pritchard and Fatima Whitbread all being put through their paces through a series of brutal challenges. It’s said that Hancock is the ‘biggest name’ to have been signed up for the show, The Mirror reports .

Hancock, who is the MP for West Suffolk, hasn’t shied away from physical challenges in the past, having done a 100-mile trek around Mont Blanc and running last year’s London Marathon. A source reportedly told The Sun that Matt wants to join the show to “reveal a different side to himself”.

A spokesperson for Hancock told The Mirror: "Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time but he has not signed up to anything."

Despite the rumour mill going into overdrive about the stars who will take part in the 2023 series, Channel 4 has previously remained tight-lipped on the subject. A spokesperson told The Mirror: "In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential. However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year."

Other big names have been floating around as part of the apparent ‘leaked line-up’, including Gareth Gates, Danielle Lloyd, Siva Kaneswaran and Gareth Thomas. James Argent, Michelle Heaton and Montana Brown are other names that are reported to be joining the series.
