Matt Hancock left red-faced as he's asked if 'bigger is better' on Loose Women

Matt Hancock appeared a little flustered on Loose Women on Wednesday, as his interview ended with an unexpected question.

Charlene White and the panel had been speaking to the former government minister about his dyslexia diagnosis, at the age of 18, and his mission to push for a new government strategy to change the way the condition is seen.

Hancock discussed the "penny drop" moment of his diagnosis, as well as the moment he first spoke publicly about it as an adult.

Panellists Penny Lancaster, Kellé Bryan and Judi Love all spoke about their own diagnoses, and their experiences of the disorder - in both childhood and adulthood.

But as the chat was coming to an end, something host Charlene asked in relation to an upcoming segment on the show left him caught off-guard.

Charlene had said: "Coming up next we're talking wedding proposals - is it a case of the bigger the better? What do you think Matt?"

The former Health Secretary wasn't expecting the direct query and appeared red-faced, before responding: "Well, each to their own! Each to their own!"

As the panel laughed hysterically, Charlene told him: "Well done!"

The host wasn't done there though, and soon had another question for him as they discussed a possible Love Island spin-off.

She asked: "And should there be an older version of Love Island for more mature contestants - Matt?"

As the panel once again chuckled, an enthusiastic Matt told her: "Yeah! I think so! Yeah, go for your life!"

The host was referring to Hancock's romance with his former adviser Gina Coladangelo (ITV)

Charlene then said: "Sign up Matt! Oh no, he's taken!"

The host was referring to Hancock's romance with his former adviser Gina Coladangelo, with them going public last year after their secret affair was exposed.

His marriage of 15 years to wife Martha broke down in the wake of the CCTV clinch scandal.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
