Matt Hancock appears to be continuing his attempted political comeback this week, first launching a Commons bill to improve dyslexia screening and now attending Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball in a turtleneck.
Yes, really.
If you somehow missed it, the former health secretary resigned from the cabinet in June after The Sun published footage of him kissing an aide, breaching social distancing rules at the time.
Attempting to grab on to relevancy, Mr Hancock attended the music event on Saturday, when the likes of Becky Hill, Years and Years and Justin Bieber took to the stage.
According to one Twitter user named Jessica, Mr Hancock reportedly “walked out” when ex-Little Mix member Jesy Nelson was performing, but “liked Sigrid”.

Unfortunately with that turtleneck, he definitely killed people’s vibes, bringing a whole new meaning to “Capital” punishment.
After pictures of him on the red carpet surfaced online, Twitter users soon ridiculed Mr Hancock’s attempt to get down with the kids:

The mocking of his Jingle Bell Ball is the latest public teasing of Mr Hancock post-scandal, after people compared a constituency video released after his resignation to the fictional TV presenter Alan Partridge.
In response to a request for comment, a spokesman from Matt Hancock’s Parliamentary office said they would not respond because it was not a “serious journalistic inquiry”.
