I'm a Celebrity's Matt Hancock at the public's mercy tonight in first eviction

Bosses at ITV's I'm a Celebrity have confirmed tonight will see the first elimination of the 2022 series. Matt Hancock, who has seen 1,100 Ofcom complaints since he entered, will be at the public's mercy as people will vote for their favourite campmate.

One of the 11 campmates will be voted to leave the Australian jungle in an extended episode that has been lengthened to 95 minutes. This will be the longest in the series so far to ensure hosts Ant and Dec can chat to the evictee.

In order to evict the former Health Secretary, he will need to amass the fewest votes to ensure he walks down the camp’s rope bridge for the last time. Earlier in the series, Mr Hancock revealed he was ‘looking for forgiveness’ on the show.

He has already ruffled the feathers of his fellow campmates as he headed on his reward trip to the beach. Comedian Seann Walsh claimed he was "having a holiday in here" and said he "sat in that chair, has a sleep in that bed, then goes to the beach for the day."

Charlene White is another possible candidate for eviction as she was dubbed 'selfish' for refusing to sleep in the RV on a mattress as deputy camp leader and was even called out by Ant and Dec. The TV presenters spoke about the bed trouble on their Instagram Live after the live show and asked fans why they thought Charlene was insisting on sleeping in the camp instead.

"Do you get it? I don’t get it," Dec said. "Why would you not want to sleep in there? It can't just be because of the spiders. Does she not want to sleep with Matt?" Ant added.

Ant pointed out however: "I think it might be that but you’ve got to think of others and if other people have to then sleep in a hammock because of your actions and have a bad back, then you’ve got to look at your actions."

Dec agreed and said: "I’m not sure it’s really playing as a team member by doing that. By taking up a bed. Is she not breaking the rules as a deputy camp leader by not going in the RV?"

Ant then suggested he was going to talk to the producers about it. Another bookmaker's favourite to go is Scarlette Douglas who has kept a low profile in comparison to big personalities like Boy George and Mike Tindall.
