Matt Eberflus says every Bears starter, except Teven Jenkins, on track for Week 1

The Chicago Bears have dealt with injuries to key starters throughout the summer, which sparked concern about their status for the Week 1 opener against the Green Bay Packers.

Head coach Matt Eberflus had good news on the injury front during his Tuesday press conference, where he expects all starters, except one, to be healthy enough for the season opener.

“Everything looks good,” Eberflus said.

Left guard Teven Jenkins is the lone exception, as he’s officially “week-to-week” with an apparent leg injury. Jenkins isn’t expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, and he could miss the first month of the season.

But, elsewhere, the injury front is more encouraging, as the Bears are set to get back a slew of starters for the start of the regular season.

Chicago’s injury list has been a long one, which has included safeties Eddie Jackson and Jaquan Brisker; edge rushers Yannick Ngakoue and DeMarcus Walker; linebacker Tremaine Edmunds; wide receiver Chase Claypool and offensive linemen Cody Whitehair, Nate Davis and Darnell Wright.
