Matheus Cunha to Arsenal: Tensions rise at Wolves as contract delay prompts January transfer talk

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has admitted to concerns over Matheus Cunha amid ongoing speculation over the player's future and transfer links with Arsenal.

Cunha returned from suspension to face Chelsea on Monday night but struggled to assert himself during a 3-1 win for Chelsea.

The Brazilian was substituted late into the game as walked straight down the tunnel, rather than join his team-mates on the bench, which prompted Pereira to say after the game: "I don't like his body language."

Pereira continued: "I had this conversation in the dressing room. He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everybody in the team wants to win.

"I don't like this body language. I want someone as a captain trying to help the team – running, suffering, fighting together. This is something I can understand. Next time, I will not understand."

Asked specifically about Cunha walking down the tunnel, Pereira stated: "This is something that cannot happen again."

Arsenal are reportedly heavily interested in Cunha as they look to sign a striker in January but their hopes were seemingly dashed earlier this month following claims the Brazilian had agreed a new long-term contract with Wolves.

However, this week fresh reports claim the agreement is yet to be finalised, seemingly opening the door for a possible dramatic exit from the club.
